Taboo for Firefox is my hero.
Ok, maybe it's not my hero but its certainly worth taking a look at. Taboo is a simple but powerful plugin for Firefox that allows you to save and manage tabs. Before taboo, it would not be uncommon for me to have anywhere from 10-25 tabs open in Firefox at all times. These tabs would usually contain articles or sites that I wanted to check out, didn't have the time to, but weren't bookmark-worthy. This bad habbit of mine was showing no signs of slowing until I found this lovely solution.
Taboo fits nicely into the Firefox browser with two simple buttons:
The "+" button is used to save the current tab, or also gives the option to save all currently open tabs.
The "T" button opens a menu of all of your currently saved tabs, with various display options.
There are also a number of handy keyboard shortcuts that I've already got the hang of:
| Action | Key Combo |
|---|---|
| Save Current Tab | Command-Shift-A |
| Save Current Tab and Close Tab | Command-Shift-C |
| Unsave Current Tab | Command-Shift-U |
| Quick View Taboo Panel | Command-Shift-F |
The result is a cleanly formatted collection of tabs (including screenshots and descriptions) that no longer clutter your browser, but will be there until you get rid of them.
